In this post I will share information about how you can change the default video player or browser or any other application in android.
One of friend accidently opened video in Google+ and tap on “Always” while opening the video in his android Smartphone and from then all videos are started to open in Google+ as it was got set as default application for all videos of that type. He had wanted to change this behavior but he was not aware of this simple action to change the default app and he finally did it by googling as like others so I thought lets share this information on my blog here too.
So let’s start.
When you open any video or file android opens a window like below.
And you either set the default app by tapping on “Always” or you tap “Just Once”.
But if you have mistakenly tapped on “Always” and want to reset the behavior to old then following is the way.
Suppose you have opened video in MX Player with “Always” option and now if you want to change it then go in settings > apps like below.
Now find the app which got selected as default. In this case it is “MX Player” and tap on it. It will open a one window just scroll till you see option “Launch by Default” like below.
When the app is selected as default then you will find “Clear Defaults” button enable. Just tap on it and that’s it, now you if you again open in video it will show the popup of “Always” and “Just Once” like previous.
